Statement of Faith

  1. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, creator of all things.
  2. We believe that God is absolute and sole creator of the universe, that through His Son, Jesus Christ, and by the work of the Holy Spirit, all things were created and are upheld, not by any process of evolution, but by divine choice.
  3. We believe that Jesus Christ, the Messiah and only begotten of Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life. Jesus in the flesh was both totally God and totally man; that He was crucified, died as the penalty for our sins, and was bodily resurrected from the dead and is seated at the right hand of the Father, where He reigns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords; that He intercedes for believers and that He is coming again to judge the living and the dead.
  4. We believe that by Jesus Christ's death and by His shed blood, that a perfect and full atonement was made for sin, redeeming us from the curse of the law and justifying us before the Father.
  5. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead and the eternal judgment of all mankind according to the Scriptures. Those who receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will arise unto the resurrection of life, and those who have rejected Him unto the resurrection of damnation.
  6. We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God; that it is inerrant in the original manuscripts and has been supernaturally preserved by God, and that, as such, it is the Supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  7. We believe in all the ministries outlined in the New Testament Scriptures as essential, and relevant, for the unifying and building up of the Body of Christ.
  8. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, is God and possesses all divine attributes. He indwells all believers at the point of conversion. We believe in the experiences of the early Church as described in the Book of Acts, whereby the Holy Spirit baptizes the believer with the power to live the Christian life. We believe that the Holy Spirit gives gifts to the Body as outlined in the New Testament for the edifying of the Body.
  9. We believe that the church is Christ's body in this world, that it is composed of all true believers; that through His church Jesus Christ carries on His work; that the purpose of the church is to give glory to God; to exalt Jesus Christ and to carry His Gospel of salvation to every person; that the church does not exist for itself, but rather for her Lord; and that the purpose of the church assembled is to, with one voice, glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to proclaim the Lord's death until He comes again, and to encourage one another to love and good deeds.

HOPE Associate Pastor Dennis Uecker

Associate Pastor Dennis Uecker

Dennis Uecker is a content man. He has been twice blessed with godly Christian wives. His first wife Jeanne, who blessed him with her love for over 35 years, is now with the Lord. He has since been blessed with Judy, his wife and helpmeet since 2001.

Dennis was raised in a Christian home and cannot remember a time of not having a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Along the way, he’s been further blessed with 6 children - 2 natural and 4 supernatural (adopted). At one time or another all 6 children were home schooled as God led. After Dennis and Judy were married, Judy, who was never previously married, adopted the four youngest children, who, counting their adoption into God’s family, have now been adopted three times. The five oldest of the six children have married and have blessed Dennis and Judy with 9 grandchildren - 6 natural and 3 supernatural. Annie, their youngest, lives at home and is a special needs child who blesses them daily with her unique gifting. (If you are interested in listening to Dennis’ personal testimony, click here)

Dennis brings over 35 years of business experience to his position as Associate Pastor/Administrator of Hope - having experience in teaching, sales, financial control and accounting, business formation and ownership, commercial real estate, and for the 15 years prior to joining the church staff in 2007, residential real estate.

When Hope hired Dennis, they also got Judy in the bargain. She is a skilled administrator, having been the personal secretary/administrator for a senior pastor for 10 years, in addition to years of hospital, Christian radio, and business administration experience. Judy prefers to stay in the background - except when she’s part of the worship team - but much of what you see in printed form and PowerPoint presentations was created by her.

Dennis has been in the Kansas City area and has been friends with Pastor Jeff since 1987 and has been actively involved in the churches he has attended, serving at various times as associate pastor, elder, teacher, worship team member, financial overseer, and administrator. Dennis' undergraduate degree is in education, and he loves being able to teach Biblical principles, and helping people of all ages develop in character and godliness, particularly young adults. He is actively working with Pastor Jeff to carry out the mandate in Ephesians 4:12 "to equip the saints for the work of ministry", and to encourage men to be leaders and teachers in their families and in the church. Dennis believes the Kingdom of God is relational, and works to create opportunities for families in the church to build relationships.
